Evaluating Anatomical Characteristics Associated With Leaf Rolling in Northeastern Thai Rice Cultivars During Drought by Decision Tree

چکیده
Leaf rolling is a common response to drought among members of the grass family. A detailed understanding structural changes that occur when rice leaves roll in may assist determining physiological mechanisms underlying this feature and its potential utility plant breeding. The anatomical characteristics cultivars native northeastern Thailand stress were evaluated study. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) treatments applied seedlings 28 two breeding for 10 d. When cultivated drought-prone environments, had leaf index between 4 7, which was classified as moderate high rolling. Rice anatomy exhibited profound drought, with smaller bulliform cells (36.8%), thicker epidermis (10.98%), vascular bundles (7.41%), bundle sheath (11.95%). Decision trees used explore association degree traits. According decision tree models generated on basis gain ratio, information gain, Gini index, epidermis, thickness, major factors root nodes, maximum accuracy 70.90%. Overall, indicated thin large cells, leaves, small are more likely display adaptations under conditions.

Transcriptome Profiling of Leaf Elongation Zone under Drought in Contrasting Rice Cultivars
Inhibition of leaf elongation and expansion is one of the earliest responses of rice to water deficit. Despite this sensitivity, a great deal of genetic variation exists in the extant of leaf elongation rate (LER) reduction in response to declining soil moisture. We analyzed global gene expression in the leaf elongation zone under drought in two rice cultivars with disparate LER sensitivities t...
متن کاملSclerophylly and leaf anatomical traits of five field-grown olive cultivars growing under drought conditions.
Leaf-level morphological and structural adaptations to reduce water loss were examined in five olive (Olea europaea L.) tree cultivars (Arbequina, Blanqueta, Cobrançosa, Manzanilla and Negrinha) growing under field conditions with low water availability. Leaf measurements included leaf tissue thickness, stomatal density, leaf area, leaf mass per unit area, density of leaf tissue, relative water...
متن کاملLeaf rolling reduces photosynthetic loss in maize under severe drought
Effects of leaf rolling (LR) on maize photosynthesis under severe drought stress were studied in two cultivars with opposite drought responses, Batem 56-55 (drought tolerant) and Batem 51-52 (drought sensitive). Drought stress and artifi cial prevention of leaf rolling (PLR) were applied at grain fi lling stage for 30 days. LR in Batem 56-55 occurred later than in Batem 51-52. Leaf water potent...
متن کاملCorrection: Photosynthetic Diffusional Constraints Affect Yield in Drought Stressed Rice Cultivars during Flowering
Global production of rice (Oryza sativa) grain is limited by water availability and the low 'leaf-level' photosynthetic capacity of many cultivars. Oryza sativa is extremely susceptible to water-deficits; therefore, predicted increases in the frequency and duration of drought events, combined with future rises in global temperatures and food demand, necessitate the development of more productiv...
متن کاملDivergent DNA methylation patterns associated with gene expression in rice cultivars with contrasting drought and salinity stress response
DNA methylation is an epigenetic mechanism that play an important role in gene regulation in response to environmental conditions. The understanding of DNA methylation at the whole genome level can provide insights into the regulatory mechanisms underlying abiotic stress response/adaptation. We report DNA methylation patterns and their influence on transcription in three rice (Oryza sativa) cul...
